Sunday, SAAF - Carlene, Herb, Vicky and 13 Soldiers from the WTB from Fort Lewis went to Emerald Downs horse races. Nick Nicholson is in the center, he is the person we are most grateful to for helping to make this event happen. Nick is the founder and president of the Employee Recycling Program, they provide sports type equipment to persons with disabilities. He is a remarkable man. Emerald Downs honored the Soldiers with grandstand view and lunch. This was such a surprise. We had the 9th race in honor of SAAF and the Warrior Transition Battalion Soldiers. Long day but very rewarding to see the Soldiers smiling and laughing. It was a great day for everyone.
